Choosing Between Phone and Chat


After clicking the "Contact Live" button for experts who are both Live Chat and Phone-enabled, you will be given the option to select the means of communication that you prefer. Simply click the ‘Phone’ or ‘Chat’ button, according to your preference, to be connected with your expert.

By clicking the ‘Chat’ button, you will activate the Session Window where you will be able to chat with your expert as soon as they respond to your call. If you click the ‘Phone’ button, you will be given an 800 number and session-specific access code with which to reach your expert. Note that both Phone and Live Chat session have the same per-minute rate.

If during your Phone session you would like to chat with your expert, simply toggle over to the Chat tab on the upper left corner of the Session Window. If you selected a Live Chat session to begin and would like to switch to Phone, you can click on the Phone tab at any time to receive the 800 number and access code for your expert.

Both Live Chat and Phone sessions begin in free mode. During Live Chat, a paid session begins only after you’ve clicked the ‘Hire’ button. During Phone sessions, you can begin a paid session either by clicking the ‘Hire’ button or by pressing the star key on your phone’s keypad.
