A+ Academy is an in-home tutoring center that provides afterschool homework help. Our motto is "All students have the ability to read/spell any & all words by the end of kindergarten". Obviously I have an overwhelming passion for teaching children. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I specifically enjoy literacy & phonemic awareness. I was recently injured, losing the ability to be on my feet all day long. I was born to teach children & I refuse to let my condition stop me. A+ Academy was created for local students but I'm excited to introduce our service to the web. A little about me, which I find to be very important..I live in Louisiana, married w/a 2 year old son. I have a very bubbly personality & I've never met a stranger. I love to talk to anyone that will talk back. I really love chidren & I've been told I have a special way with children. I would love to help your child acheive educational success. I love teaching, whether it's kindergarten or 8th grade, whether it's reading, math or study skills, I will change your child's viewpoint of school within days. Homework is meant to reinforce what is being learned in the classroom. Together we can turn boring afterschool homework into exciting & engaging afterschool "practice". I have been teaching children for almost 10 yrs but have been teaching specifically elementary education for approx. 5 years. I have experience with Reading Readiness Program & Reading First. I have experience with all grades K-7.
