Anya Simone Thompson founded AST Consulting in November 2005, after leaving Mo-Bay Uptown Inc. (NY) where she was the General Manager for three years. She earned an Economics degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, was SGA President, an Economics Tutor, Director of Multicultural Affairs and the Choreagrapher of her own dance troupe -"Ebony"
AST Consulting's first contract consisted of an alliance between Merchant Processing Services Inc. (affiliate of BOA), a network of Harlem merchants and the Venture Consortium Group, LLC. The company ventured to standardize the merchant community by offering a plethora of automated point of sale solutions that would improve business profitability, service and sales. The services the company offered filled a void in Harlem, and quickly became the personable consulting arm to clients like the Lenox Lounge and the DEN. In 2007, AST Consulting landed a notable project, one that allowed the company to offer their services to the North Coast Highway Project, in Jamaica (W.I.), through an Irish based contractor Lagan Holdings Ltd.
On her return, Anya Thompson then partnered with Johns Hopkins/MBA graduate Marcel Braithwaite, to offer a wide range of financial management services to the NYC metro's small business community and non-profit organizations alike. AST Consulting LLC is currently located in Harlem with notable clients such as Design Schemes @ Home (Brooklyn) and Not Just Tea Inc.(Harlem).
