I have worked for the last 12 years in the Benefits field both with an insurance carrier and as the Director of Benefits for a PEO where I maintained a complete benefits package including medical, dental, disability, life, 401(k) and other ancillary products (Aflac, Colonial) for our internal staff and our client companies. I also maintained a staff of up to 18 employees and was responsible for monthly benefit reconciliation to make sure all premiums were collected correctly and all vendors were paid properly. My staff and I also provided benefit counseling to our clients and their employees as well as enrollment meetings and annual open enrollment for all products. We were also responsible for COBRA and HIPAA regulations for all employees and clients. I also provided detailed reports for accounting purposes and maintained relationships with all vendors and carriers. I was part of the renewal process each year and headed our negotiations with all vendors regarding plan choices and premium increases.
