Prof. Barak is the founder, supervisor, and member of the board of an exclusively online free emotional support service in Israel (SAHAR). Until recently, he was the chair of the Israeli inter-university e-learning center (MEITAL) (in Hebrew). He has consulted to several online psychological services, such as InCrisis, Sexuality & You and Kasamba. He is an active member in the International Society of Mental Health Online (ISMHO), the International Society for Research in Internet Interventions (ISRII), as well several other professional organizations.

Experience & Qualifications

Azy was affiliated as a regular faculty member with Tel-Aviv University and the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada) and is now affiliated as a professor of psychology in the Department of Education at the University of Haifa, Israel. He has been engaged with the study of psychological aspects of the Internet since 1995 and involved in intensive research, writing, teaching, and applied projects in this area, as well as in online counseling practice and supervision. He is considered a world expert in the psychology of cyberspace and is intensively involved in the development of this emerging field.
