My advice on Drug Addiction, is based on the idea of DISORDER and is characterized by a continuing pattern of pathological & chemical uses of medication(s). In other words, a person who self medicates themselves to the point they can no longer function in social situations. This then leads to consequences like a failure to meet work, family, or school obligations. In turn, interpersonal conflicts arise followed by legal problems. A pattern is formed, what I do is help asses the addiction (making certain substance over load is actually occurring), give advice on why it's happened and then explain ways to break those patterns.
