Introduction to longform improvisation: For complete beginners and experienced actors, this workshop instills the fundamentals of improvisation. Explore ways to become more spontaneous, adventurous, and expressive. Experience interactive exercises that will improve your listening and communication skills while heightening your playfulness, creativity, teamwork, and sense of adventure. Explore improvisational acting at it's most artful and challenging. You will learn to create scenes and stories that are weaved into a piece that is greater than the sum of its' parts. Become trained in the art of freestyle narrative, creating intuitively, all from your imagination. You will have the opportunity to explore the "group mind", character status, rich scenework, editing techniques, monologues, patterns & connectiveness, live creative storytelling. You will be challenged to take risks, go further with your ideas, and embrace your inner weirdo. You will understand how to support your fellow improvisers, get grounded in the characters you create and how to improve your sense of comedy and drama. About the Instructor: Brandon Enriquez studied improvisation and sketch comedy at the Second City Toronto where he attended the Conservatory program on scholarship. He was also awarded a scholarship to study improv with Theatresports Toronto by talent search organization, "Canadian Idol Eh". And he was the winner of the 2005 Dallas' Funniest Person contest. He is a founding member of Dallas' 'kick-assiest' longform improv troupe, "The French Club Dropouts", which performed regularly at the West End Comedy Theatre, The Pocket Sandwich theatre and in various improv festivals. Brandon has also wrote, performed, and stage managed for Dallas' touring sketch comedy show, "Queertown". He is a former producer and theatre manager for Toronto's Yellow Griffin Comedy shows and Dallas' West End Comedy Theatre. He has been teaching improvisation to children and adults in both Canada and the United States for over 7 years. He loves his dogs, "Saturday and Sunday".

Experience & Qualifications

Brandon currently performs, produces, writes and manages for various comedy shows and theatre groups in the Dallas Fort Worth area. He has taught improvisation for The West End Comedy Theatre, The Pocket Sandwich Theatre, and Class Act in Dallas. He has also taught improvisation in Toronto.
