My Expert Service

By organizing a spoken word/performance poetry program on campuses throughout the country, we can create and foster admiration and respect for the written word and its natural predecessor, the oral tradition. By bringing the lone speaker back as a narrative or expository device we create excitement and a renewed enthusiasm for poetry. These groups never fail to raise funds which support itself, but often change the face and fabric of an insitution. We drive minds back to their deepest and most sacred power, to create and share with their peers ideas, concepts, and beautiful, beautiful art. This is as opposed to pep rally, pomp, and circumstance of most collegiate affiliations.

Experience & Qualifications

I have founded and managed the operations of three distinct organizations of this kind. In my time in the college saturated Hudson Valley area of New York I individually initiated five programs (one at my own school, and four at nearby schools), and helped create what is now known as the "SUNY Slam Family" , a group of six State schools in NY which compete and co-operate to achieve the collective vision: A tightly woven, state-wide family which promote and provide for one another and compete to the cheers of our fans. These groups are rarely seen in the New York metro area because of a profundity of "adult" slam teams in the city's legendary halls of spoken word. The colleges simply work to support the adult teams, and never compete on the large, national collegiate circuit. This, is what I help to fight by initiating, assisting, and incubating collegiate slam programs.
