I am here to help you with advice on how to get started hiking in the Cascade and Olympic Mountain ranges in Washington State. I can help you with advice on what to pack, where to go, gear selection, planning, what to eat and information sources. Whether it is a one day hike in Snoqualmie Pass or a week long trip in the Olympic Mountains I can help you out. No questions on technical climbing please (that is climbing with ropes, up rock or over glaciers).

Experience & Qualifications

I have 25+ years of experience hiking in the U.S. The last 12 years have concentrated on the Cascade and Olympic Mountain Ranges in Washington State. I have been trained by the Mountaineers Club as Scrambler (off trail, non-technical peak climbs). I have summitted Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens. This summer, I did a 9-day backpack in the Olympic Mountains. I have done at least 10 day hikes in the Cascades a year for the last 10 years.
