My Expert Service

I've been building on home care experience through career growth and by obtaining appropriate certifications. I've been an RN for over 11 years, and I have been in the Home Care Arena for approximately 7 of these years. It's my personal purpose to give useful suggestions regarding home safety. Accuracy, as related to qualitative documentation of patient safety situations in IL communities, is also a skill that I have expertise in.

Experience & Qualifications

Prior to my home care career, my RN experience consisted of a range of health care settings. These settings were rehab, medical surgical, cardiac telemetry and cardio thoracic surgical units. Transitional, neurological and general intensive care units are other health care settings I've worked in. I began a career in home care nursing as a Hospice Nurse in 2004. Approximately 1 and a half years later I transitioned from hospice home care to standard home based services. Within my 7 year span of being in the home care arena, 3 years of this experience included disease management and education as a telehealth RN. As a Telephone disease management RN, I specialized in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), schizophrenia and depression conditions. Career growth in the home care setting has consisted of being an RN case manager in the field visiting patients in their home. A promotion granted me the opportunity to transition from field nursing to a home health office setting. A primary function I implement in the office setting is oasis-c education and training. A close focus on quality assurance and documentation is key. My most current accomplishment is the receipt of training and obtaining chemotherapy provider certification. I am now able to provide chemotherapy in the patients home. I am also able provide education and facilitate registration to other RN's with greater than 6 months experience who would like to be chemotherapy provider trained.
