Professional Experience
Logistics Planning Specialist – CPS Green Belt (Contract) Caterpillar INC. Decatur, IL 2008-Current
As a process standards team member I created and published shipping (transportation) processes / procedures and converted that documentation to the CPS Standard Work format. Processes include all aspects of shipping Prime Product Units including shipping configurations, shipping loose items and any sub-processes supporting the shipment of Prime Products. I analyzed current shipping methods and processes and recommend changes to improve quality and velocity, reduce warranty costs, and eliminate waste, bringing Caterpillar and Keen Transport into compliance with the Caterpillar Production System (CPS).
Military Technician US Army, Camp Lincoln, Springfield, IL 2005-2007
Maintained all officers and enlisted personnel records. Ensured personnel records were current through daily posting, filing and screening. Monitored check out status of soldier files, managed filing systems and logistics of files, processed soldier discharges, retirement certificates, survivor benefits, and life insurance. Served as the focal point, local authority and expert source for all information in the Public Affairs Office (PAO). Conducted research on a wide variety of complex problems involving various public affairs, activities, or issues.
Developed office correspondence via administering office publication and forms for management functions. Advised the supervisor and Public Affairs Staff of the latest directives regarding administrative procedures. Held the responsibility for conducting periodic quality control inspections of administrative files, reference library materials and sensitive documents. Utilized general and specific public affairs software to develop military and non-military correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and electronic mail. Organized and orchestrated VIP visits, media inquiries and interviews, and all other logistical responsibilities associated with office.
Achievements
•Co-created a database to track/log all vault functions including vault set up, file status, file location etc.
• Filed approximately 2 years worth of backlogged documents and created a system to sub file backlogs until it’s ultimately filed in the vault.
•System proved to be one that brought the Illinois National Guard in compliance with state and federal archiving laws and statutes.
Stock Assistant Senior Lockheed Martin Corp. Goodyear, AZ 2002-2005
Received material against purchase orders, verified part numbers, and worked with quality assurance in confirming quality of material and conformance to military standards, route material to configuration managers, engineers and end users. Managed warehouse stockrooms and oversaw day to day operations. Worked with engineering department on repairing, setting up, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
I shipped classified and hazardous materials daily using the DD250 and DD1149 forms. Generated commercial invoices and worked with the DCMA (government auditor) to verify government property and generated export certifications for foreign shipments. By working with the Procurement Department and Capitol Asset Manager, I developed familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations while assisting in receiving, tagging, logging and tracking of capitol assets.
