I am a highly motivated educator/leader with over 15 years of working with people of all occupations to reach common goals and objectives. I am a former at risk and unmotivated youth who uses my personal life experience and formal education to impart in others the skills necessary for academic success. I am also the founder of an educational consulting firm that empowers teachers, students, parents, and communities to create environments at home and in school that promote intrinsic motivation and lifelong learners. As an education leader, to carry out my philosophy that learning is the key to success in life, I have involved teachers, students, and parents in creating and maintaining a positive behavior philosophy. That behavior includes intrinsic motivation, self-discipline, and goal oriented tasks.
My skills include writing strategic plans for redesigning academic programs to foster greater student success; implementing intervention models for students at risk of failing and/or dropping out of school, and fostering relationships among all stakeholders in the education process through workshops and seminars to work toward common goals.
I have also evaluated teachers through informal and formal observations to ensure a quality education for students and implemented peer coaching between teachers to create a team environment and benefit from the individual strengths of all teachers.
As a teacher, I organized daily instructional routine by applying grade level expectations to multiple learning styles and real life situations using educational resources and technology to increase student attendance, engagement, and motivation necessary to reach classroom objectives. For self-assessment, I maintained a portfolio of student artifacts, monitored and assessed testing data, and created individual education plans for student remediation. And finally, I applied subject content while encouraging and counseling students on post-secondary goals.
