BA in Psychology 1999 - George Mason University with a minor in Dance, Honor Student; Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Stila Cosmetics Nov 1996-May 2005 where I trained over 5 years with Stila creator/founder Jeanine Lobell, as one of 5 chosen artists to travel and teach all over the world. Director of Artistry for Lancome, USA June 2005-January 2008 where I trained with celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman and was recruited by Paris to design and implement artistic programs, curriculums, and tools for not only the Pro Artists but also the 10,000 artists in the field and in store.

As a Makeup Expert, I am able to provide specific direction regarding how to apply products that are often times the correct formulas but applied in a way that limit the performance or end result. I am able to Analyze and Evaluate at a much more elevated level as an expert, to decode what it is the client truly is in need of and why what he/she is using is not working. At that point, I am able to provide a specific and customized solution (regarding makeup) based on the client's lifestyle, skin tone, budget, time constraints, preference, and space on their face(i.e. eye shape/face shape) For example, if a client expresses she does not like foundation I prefer to evaluate through specific questioning techniques what her experience has been in the past, what her exposure to learning the proper technique has been, what she prefers, what are her concerns regarding tone/texture of her skin and 'diagnose' not only the best texture and formula for her but also the proper technique to apply. It's a two-fold process- buying expensive ingredients doesn't make the meal it's knowing the exact amount, heat level and time needed to cook that makes it all come together. I provide my clients specific direction based on individual criteria that is relevant to them. I have a special knack, if you will, for connecting with people right away and making them feel safe and confident using products that are often intimidating and misunderstood. As my Daramascara philosophy stands: "I believe every woman has the ability to enhance her own features." I have complete certainty that when he/she is done speaking with me they will be more confident in their choices and how to fulfill their needs

I started out in retail cosmetics over 13 years ago while attaining my BA in Psychology which led me to a career in cosmetics I never would have imagined possible. I started with Stila Cosmetics in 1996 which quickly led me to be noticed as a budding artist in the eyes of creator/founder Jeanine Lobell. After being acquired by Estee Lauder, Stila asked me to become a trainer and was hand picked by Jeanine to begin a career that over the next 7 years would bring me to Fashion Week as one of her lead artists, Hong Kong, Australia, Europe, and all across the Nation as a global featured artist and educator. Over this time I gained much experience not only with educating aritsts and clients but also exposure on Oprah, Good Morning America, and various TV shows, as well as fashion shows where I honed my talent as a true teacher of artistry. I then left to pursue a Director of Aristry position with Lancome, USA where I would be responsible for developing and translating all artistic vision from Paris where I'd travel 2x year and return to 'train the trainers' responsible for rolling out my training curriculums to over 10,000 artists. There, I trained with reknowned celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman, and continued to develop a presence nationally teaching seminars to 150+ artists/executives several times a year. I left corporate in January of 2008 to pursue my dream of launching Darmascara, LLC which is my own makeup artistry consulting business where I teach artists and clients alike how to use what they already own and own a technique not just what to purchase. This has been my passion to help people develop their eye and become aware of the space on their face the way a designer can do for a room. I have a true knack for simplifying someone's perception of what their face needs.
