Beckemeyer started his first startup company BDT.COM in 1985. The company grew to become a well respected ISP and consulting firm in the San Franscisco bay area that was acquired in 1995 by EarthLink. He joined EarthLink in 1995 and served as vice president of engineering for three years, then as CTO. As a member of the core executive team, Mr. Beckemeyer participated in several successful private placement funding efforts, the company's IPO in 1997, a major Sprint investment and strategic partnership, and other significant transactions.
