I remember when I went on the Internet for the first time.. it was in 1995. I remember thinking—wow, millions of humans to connect with, right at my fingertips. But I found that when I was shopping on a particular website and needed some assistance—there was no one there. I thought this was very ironic. The fact that millions were “online” yet I couldn’t find a single person to connect with on a website. It was at this moment that I began to dream up the company that you see today—LivePerson. The mission of LivePerson is to enable meaningful connections between our customers and their customers. We define a “meaningful connection” as one that is done in real-time, it is intelligent and personal, and it can be done everywhere on a website, and on any device.
Human beings inherently seek connection—from businesses, from their community, and even from their government. When there is a lack of connection, we feel dissatisfied and we revolt—we tweet complaints, make Youtube videos, and even protest.
I shared my philosophy on connections recently at LivePerson’s global customer conference—Aspire. I’m happy to share this message with the global community and I hope it will inspire you in some way, great or small.
