During my working career I was a psychotherapist in private practice dealing with a wide range of psychiatric and personal issues. I was also an addict and an alcoholic from a family with a history of alcoholism. This personal history led me to specialize in the treatment of chemical dependency, and also to question my own use of "substances". I chose to get sober, and have been living a sober life for 17 - almost 18 - years!
