I have worked in the field of mental health for 16 years. I've been employed as a therapist working with individuals and families. Most of the clients who came to see me, initially described symptoms of depression. However, as if often the case, as our work continued, we were able to identify and address the underlying experiences that were at the root of their feelings of sadness or anxiety. I also developed an expertise as a child and family therapist, as well as someone who was sensitive and knowlegeable in treating issues that typically impact women of all ages.

The majority of my professional experience has been centered on my work as an outpatient therapist, providing a treatment to individuals of all ages and families, when appropriate. Over the years I focused on developing my expertiese in the treatment of emotional distress in children, adolescents and adults. Most recently, I was employed as a therapist in a residential treatment center for adolescents. In addition, I have supervised a crisis response team; provided in-home therapy for disrupted families; supervised and consulted with other professionals and taught bachelor's level students at the University of Kansas.
