Clinics, Consulting, Coaching for a variety of Equestrian Endeavors: Saddle Fit, Pre-purchase, Breeding & Foaling The Quilliams method of horse training results from years of experience. Dennis incorporates the philosophy of training from other natural Horsemen. Dennis basis his philosophy of training on the mutual respect of horse to man and man to horse. Dennis began his love of horses as a young man (40 +years ago). He lived in the middle of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. So he had to hunt to find that “elusive dream”. At the age of 12, he mucked stalls at a local riding stable in exchange for lessons. Beginning with riding English, he soon proved to be a natural rider and advanced from riding to teaching. He learned how to care for a horse, feeding & grooming to caring for health needs. His instinctive ability to understand the horse made him a natural horseman. He trained his first horse within that first year. Dennis went on to work at various ranches in Alberta, British Columbia & Saskatchewan, continuing his learning and training of ranch horses. He has worked with, & trained, Quarter horses, Appaloosas, Pintos, Arabians, Warmbloods, & Thoroughbreds, to name just a few. For several years, he worked as Manager and Trainer, on a gaited horse ranch in Snoqualmie, Washington. While on the ranch, he trained gaited Mountain horses, Tennessee Walkers, Saddlebreds, Peruvians and Paso Fino. Using this philosophy of respect between horse and rider, Dennis teaches the art of HorseManShip. Both horse and rider will develop confidence in each other and compassion between the rider and the horse. Dennis has worked with many different breeds but his specialty is working with Gaited Horses. He has trained and conducted clinics in both the USA and Canada. The over-riding goal of training is QAVAH – to develop connection between horse & rider, to develop confidence in both partners, to install a sense of compassion in the rider and to develop consistency in the training of both horse and rider.
