My sewing life began when I was 13 and has expanded into a business called Dinah Silk : designing and producing ritual items for church and synagogue. I also do all my home decorating and linens and make most of my own clothing. My favorite technique is to adorn with silk painted applique, beading and embroidery and create one of a kind pieces of art. In addition to sewing and embroidery I knit and crochet garments. I can answer beginner sewing questions about home projects, childrens garments, alterations, getting your machine working, what kind of tools you need or even a cam and mike can provide personalized sewing instruction. I can get you over a problem and back into yourlove of sewing.

Experience & Qualifications

Taught sewing since 1972. Accept commissions to make prayer shawls, bishops robes, wedding canopies, jewish ritual items and clothing. I am most familiar with the folllowing lines of machines: Brother, Baby Lock, Elna including their sewing machines, embroidery machines and sergers. I won't tell you what machine to buy but I CAN discuss useful features.
