Experience & Qualifications

As I began my career as an interior designer twenty-seven years ago, I opted to start as a furntiture retail display artist. This decision was based on the fact that, like most graduates, I had plenty of theoretical knowledge, yet did not have much 'hands-on' experience. What better place could there be than a 40,000 square foot showroom full of furniture and accessories with which to experiment!
After a year of trial and error, the ineventable happened: customers wanted advice from "whoever is making this showroom so beautiful".
Shortly after entering the sales floor I discovered guiding people through the process of putting their homes together was as equally exciting as creating unique vignettes.
Since then, I have owned and operated an interior design business, written curriculum and taught accredited interior design courses for college, adult continuous education programs, high school co-op workshops, elementary school art, seminars for public and private groups, trained and mentored new hires in the art of interior design and sales, furnished new model homes, and conferenced as a design liason between Mr. & Mrs. Consumer and the manufacturer.
Currently I am in management with a national furniture chain: hiring, training and mentoring designers/ sales associates in various locations.
