Disability does not have to be a handicap! Taking control of your life can enpower people to gain self confidence! Which can allow you or a loved one, to chart the course of their own lives! From simply deciding what you would like for lunch to gaining full independence. I'm here to chat and suggest ideas how this may be achieved, I promise that I never lecture because every situation is unique!

Although I do not seek to be a role model for people; many people say that I am. I hope that you can draw inspiration from me to succeed!
My communication skills are my best asset because they have allowed me to negate my disablity. Over the last five years I have had a few acting roles, one along side Robert Carlisle in a major television drama series and The Washington Post has published a few of my blogg pieces!
I will go to places or events where wheelchair users do not usually go because what ever the barrier I know that I can surmount it in an unique fashion. A national PR company said I would not get the media to take me seriously because of my speech problem but by the use of interpreters and a speaking computer, my disadvantage has re-enforced my uniqueness.
My approach to situations is…solve the problem. I do not think "I cannot go to Africa because I haven't got a care helper; I think I want to go to Africa, now I have to find a care helper."
Interpersonal, teamwork and liaison skills.
Another direct upshot of being able to live independently (or ‘normally’) is that I no longer think of myself as being disabled! This attitude or state of mind has meant since leaving college, I have a full life.
When you employ and rely on carers, without support, you learn tact and to solve problems, which builds self-confidence and reliance. I have a great affinity with people who have never experienced disability. My campaigns, acting and writing careers has been aided and endorsed by individuals and organisations who do not normally become involved with the disabled!
