Ayurveda is the oldest medical science . It is more than 5000 years old . It originated specifically for the well - being of the human beings in all parts of life . Ayu means Life & Veda means Science . Hence it is called as science of life .
It is based upon the balance of body mechanisms . Ayurveda believes 3 doshas ( body humours ) , 7 dhatus ( body tissues ) & 3 malas ( waste products ) in the body . Any type of imbalance in these things makes u uncomfortable . This is the start of the disease .
Agni ( Digestive power ) is the basic source of power in the body . Ayurveda firmly believes that all the diseases are generated due to weakness in the Agni ( digestive power ) .
Prevention is better than Cure is the basic criterion of this science which is the best gift to mankind . Treating any type of illness is ok . But Ayurveda works for the wellbeing ie not to generate any type of disease . The medication is given as per the self body constitution . Hence there are not any type of side effects with the Ayurveda therapies .
