Dr. Briggs is a 1992 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. He has be treating all kinds of companion animals for years and has a special interest in exotic pets. Memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), New Jersey Veterinary Medical AssociationAmerican Animal Hospital Association,(AAHA), Jersey Shore Veterinary Medical Association (JSVMA) (where he also serves as treasurer and was recognized by his colleages and awarded Veterinarian of the Year in 2006), Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, and the New Jersey Herpetological Society. Dr. Briggs enjoys furthering his knowledge and skills through a variety of continuing education resources. His current focus is the use of minimally invasive surgical procedures (rumors are he can laparoscopically spay a dog in less than 30 minutes!). In his spare time, Dr. Briggs enjoys spending time with his kids, working with computers and of course playing ice and/or roller hockey (being a native Canadian!). He is also an audio/video/electronics nut and this hobby is perhaps his favorite pastime.
