Experience & Qualifications

I hold a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska and I have personally coached and taught thousands of people my life-changing relationship, communication, and life strategies. I have been teaching at the university level since 1993. Currently, I am an Gender & Interpersonal Communication Professor at Wright State University, where I have been a “Who's Who Among American Teachers” honoree. Additionally, I am the author of the book We’re Not that Different: Two Sisters’ Religious and Spiritual Journeys and I have two more books that will be available on Kindle soon. One of them is entitled Radical Relationship Resource, and the other is EXPECT: A Guide for a Happier Life. I travel across the country to present my research findings at professional conferences, and I have won several awards for my research. In addition to coaching, teaching, and research, I have acted as a communication/relationship consultant and trainer for businesses and schools. Some of the organizations I have worked with include Delphi International, the Montgomery County Hostage Negotiation Team, Girl Scouts of America, and the International Association of Business Communicators. I am also a trained hypnotherapist and use this skill to help people with their life issues. Finally, I am the monthly co-host of the radio show, Dick Sutphen’s Metaphysical World (with 500,000 listeners) where we discuss relationship problems and solutions.
