Currently, I am an online Instructor teaching Reading and Literacy to Teachers attending graduate school. The focus is for teachers to learn effective Reading & Literacy strategies for everyday classroom use. I have extensive background experience in Classroom teaching of grades K-10, Curriculum & Instruction, Staff Development,Reading Specialist,Reading Recovery Teacher Leader, and School Policy Decision Making.

Experience & Qualifications

I began my educational journey teaching grades K through 10 in a large urban School District. I later worked in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, where I trained other teachers to be able to critically look at student's reading behaviors. The department of Staff Development was the next step in my journey. In this capacity, I was in charge of 15 failing schools who were on the State watch list. My job was to go into the school and work with the administrator and staff in order to pull the reading scores of students up. In my last foray with a School District, I was the administrator over Reading programs. After finishing my Doctorate Degree, I segued my expertise and experience into helping teachers in graduate school learn how to effectively teach Reading.
