I provide consultation to patients suffering from a variety of psychological disorders including anxiety and mood disorders, and can address most issues related to emotional problems of children, adolescents and adults. I have been in private practice for 35 years, have published articles in books and publications and have taught in several universities. In addition to my broad base of experience and knowledge pertaining to psychological disorders, I have a special skills in pain management. I have helped many clients with physical problems using guided imagery and other techniques and have extensive knowledge and training in psychosomatic medicine. I have helped patients with chronic pain including headaches, gastrointestinal disorders and other physical syndromes that link mind and body in a holistic approach to treatment of emotional and physical illness. I have extensive knowledge in psychopharmacology working with psychiatrists for many years and can help clients evaluate the advantages and appropriate usage of psychotropic medications. Presently I am pursuing training in the treatment of cancer patients focusing on how the mind can have a life saving effect in the treatment of patients that are considered terminal by conventional medical standards.In addition to conventional therapies, I have studied other techniques including Dr Carl Simington and Dr. Bernie Siegel's successful work using guided imagery in the treatment of terminally ill patients. I have had extensive training in psychotherapy and diagnosis of children and adolescents. I have extensive experience in parent counseling. I also have a backround in psychoneuology and learning disabilities and can guide parents to the appropriate resources for treatment of a variety of learning problems and related issues like attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity.
