Ryan Whetstone has 13 years of service with Los Angeles Unified School District. He taught computer software applications and business related courses within the Division of Adult and Career Education. He also served as a Software Trainer for the District. He has also served in various positions including CalWORKS, Perkins and Industrial Programs Advisor.
Prior to joining Los Angeles Unified School District, Ryan served as Program Manager for YouthBuild, an Americorps program providing education and training for incarcerated youth; and also as Director of the Young Black Scholars program – an initiative to help students to prepare for college.
His undergraduate studies were conducted at UCLA where he earned his B.A. in Design. He then went on to earn his M.A. degree is Education Administration.
Mr. Whetstone is currently Assistant Principal of Operations at East Los Angeles Occupational Center. He is dedicated to the service of students and providing options for adult and youth seeking sustainable career training options.
