I worked in one of the lowest-performing high schools in the State of Louisiana. I worked on staff at Teach For America and I also played a leading role in establishing a K-8 charter school. I have served as a founding board member of a charter school and have been involved in substantial fundraising/development efforts for education organizations. Most recently, I've worked as an administrator at an elementary school which previously had been the lowest-performing K-8 public school in the district. I joined a new leadership team that was brought in this past year to try to turn the school around. As a result, our school's performance score jumped from the bottom to the top third by the end of the academic year.
I would be glad to share my experience and insights on education reform issues, school administration, classroom management and instruction, and related areas.
