I work mainly with oil, acrylic and charcoal often incorporating handmade paper and other textural materials. I am a contemporary painter strong on the use of colour and bringing a sense of movement and life into a painting. As a arts writer I interview at least 33 artists a year, profiling their lives, techniques, materials and philosophies for three West of Ireland magazines.

I have studied in Cape Town, South Africa and have run my own handmade papermaking business since 1994. I have been a full-time professional artist since the late 1990s.
I have been a writer since the early 1980s.
