I specialize in portraits of Dogs and other animals, as well as people. Flora and fauna is another aspect of my art, nature and botanical subjects in watercolor. I teach several disciplines of art and lead workshops on painting in the field, nature journaling, and en plein air. I specifically advise on the anatomy of the face and head of people and animals, how to achieve form and dimension in drawing and getting a likeness. In Watercolor, I describe the papers, brushes and other tools and several techniques to achieve a luminous transparent surface!

Experience & Qualifications

Specialize in portraiture of animals, teach oil painting, watercolor painting, figure drawing and portrait drawing, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with 35 years experience as a professional artist. My work is in private collections around the world. I lead workshops at many different venues yearly, with students of all ages. My education is as a classical painter with leanings toward impressionism. My love is birds and animals, and my work expresses this, but I also paint landscape and still life with joy.
