I have written and edited grant proposals and reports; K-6th grade curricula; newsletter articles; briefing papers; press releases; web content; paid/earned media for various political and advocacy campaigns.
Many of my writing assignments required extensive research and I am accustomed to working on tight deadlines.
Since September '08, I have been self-employed as a freelance writer/editor. In this capacity, I have drafted and edited press releases and other written media for a corporate client. I also write freelance feature articles on travel and people/places of interest. Since starting this endeavor, I have placed over twenty articles in local and regional publications and in one national web publication.

Over 15 years experience writing/editing for non-profit organizations:
Wrote paid/earned media for statewide electoral campaigns;
Drafted/edited voter outreach materials that educated citizens on the voting process;
Researched, wrote webpage that reported on the votes of lawmakers;
Wrote/edited newsletter articles on environmental education for children and conservation issues;
Worked as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate law course, advising students on environmental policy analysis and writing;
Directed environmental education programs for 2,000+ children and adults per year. In this capacity, I wrote a statewide curricula for rural 4th-5th grade classrooms.
