Office Furniture Industry Trends We offer an analysis of a variety of changes, news, and activities within the global office furniture industry. We conduct our own industry surveys and we can provide detailed evaluations of office furniture manufacturers and Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers. International Partnerships & Collaboration We help find North American Marketing Partners for European and / or Asian manufacturers. We specialize in assisting foreign companies to establish partnerships in North America, or helping North American companies to find suitable partners in other parts of the world. Independent Rep Sales Team Development We assist OEM’s, Tier 1, and Tier 2 Suppliers in locating, training, and managing Independent Manufacturer’s Representatives. We have over 30 years experience of working with Reps and we can help you fine tune and maximize your field sales performance. OEM / Supplier Business Activities We offer customized services to help OEM’s and their suppliers to maximize their understanding of each other’s businesses. This improves communication and adds to everyone’s bottom line. Products Liability Program Management We can assume the role as your Corporate Representation, conduct Product Examination and Incident Analysis, and provide Expert Witness services when confronted with product liability claims. We specialize in swivel office chairs. Strategic Market Planning We use Activity Based Performance Studies for Products & Customers, Product Positioning & Life Cycles, Competitor Evaluation, and Customer Satisfaction programs. This helps assure our clients that they achieve optimum levels of performance in their markets.

Experience & Qualifications

Prior to Michael A. Dunlap & Associates, LLC in 2003, Mike was Vice President, Chair Components Group of SUSPA, Incorporated. SUSPA is a manufacturer of Lift, Support, Damping, and Adjustment Devices such as Gas Springs used for Height Adjustment of Swivel Office Chairs and Automobile Hatchbacks, and suspension systems for Washing Machines. Mike joined SUSPA in 1978 and held various positions in Production Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Sales and Marketing. Before joining SUSPA, he held positions as a Project Engineer in the Transportation Seating Division of American Seating Company and as a Product Development Engineer with the Saginaw Division (now DELPHI) of General Motors Corporation. Mike was elected as member of the Board of Directors for BIFMA International in 2001 and served a three-year term as its supplier representative until June 2004. He is a founding member of the Office Furniture Industry Council, which has now evolved into the BIFMA Supply Chain Management Committee. He served as OFIC Chairman in 1998. He also has served on several committees of BIFMA International, is a member of the Grand Rapids Economic Club, and Society of Automotive Engineers. Mike is deeply involved in a variety of community leadership programs. He is a graduate of Leadership Grand Rapids, Class of 1996 and of Leadership Michigan, Class of 2006. Mike has served in a several capacities in the Leadership West Michigan program, and was its Chair for 2007. He also serves on the Board of Directors for FIRST in Michigan.
