Once I completed my degree, I worked in retail. I also worked as a personal shopper for one of the larger department stores. There were so many customers that sent in complementary letters about my service, the store manager stopped by to meet me and shake my hand. From there I was hired to do marketing and public relations for a company that converted cars for the handicapped. Due to the marketing and public relations efforts revenue increased. My true love is running my own business. I owned a woman's clothing and accessory store. Women would visit by appointment only. For many organizations I would produce fashion shows.
I opened a wholesale baking company, selling to restaurants, stores, country clubs and the list goes on. I rolled my baking business into the gift basket company. My goal was to build the business on a shoestring and sell it in five years. Through my marketing and public relations the business grew. It was a very successful venture!! The gift basket business was my favorite. I have written an e-book on how to start and run a gift basket business.
I am very proud to say that over the years with my knowledge and experience I have been able to help many businesses flourish. When taking on a consulting job, I think of each company as if it were my own.
