CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
I have always felt it important to have a well-rounded career with objectives that encompass more than the basics.
As my career with Discover began I streamlined the AP process for securitization thereby affording us timely payment discounts. I worked on the team that transparently took all of our record keeping from an AS400 system to their current LitigationSystem. During my career with Discover Financial Services I managed board book production for five banks while refining and streamlining the process. I had the responsibility for the project management of the spin from Morgan Stanley; tracking, coordinating and reminding staff of due dates and researching best practices.
1972 - 1993
While working for Honeywell Photographic I expanded my position to include customer service and in-store sales demonstrating to foster good public relations with our partners – camera stores.
At DeVry, as the Corporate Benefits Coordinator, I consolidated 33 HMO’s to two national HMO’s and one local HMO for each facility. This provided a significant cost savings to the company. I also empowered the HR Field Managers to handle their own open enrollments, local HMO issues and claims, greatly reducing issues at the corporate office. I was in charge of 3800 benefits eligible employees and their families and streamlined all processes for claim submission, open enrollment, STD, LTD and Cobra.
I began my career at Imperial Eastman (a brass manufacturer in Chicago) as an administrative assistant in the sales department. I moved to customer service manager and improved morale and quality of information being disseminated to customers. I then became the buyer/planner for their tools division. My goal was to produce $6M in tools over the course of the next year. My team produced $10M in tools and it has proved to be the best year IE had in their tools division. I consulted with them for approximately six months after leaving their employ to transition a new buyer/planner into the job.
