Along with 20 years of experience in the fields of education and social services, I was the director of a pre-school for 7 years. As a Mental Health specialist I have devoted myself to counseling,coaching and consulting As such I draw on a wide range of approaches. I am trained in several approaches which are consistent with parent coaching, including Family Systems and Behavioral Therapy.

Experience & Qualifications

As the founder and director of a pre-school program, I was a mentor to parents, who would often seek me out to discuss concerns regarding their children. I worked together with them to modify their child’s behavior, teach them new health promoting skills, and connect them with parent child resources in the Ottawa community. I have developed several methods of assisting children on an emotional level by using such skills as role playing and art therapy.

I ve been away from the sessions for a few months due to computer problems but I did recieve a couple e mail from Barbara checking in & I recently bought a new computer & Im back in business now . I finally got caught up w / Barbara on previous sessions & so forth , she s great . She remembered where we left off & we were able to pick up from my last session & we got our time in .

Barbara Freedman is amazing, thoughtful, compassionate and amazingly insightful. Much better/kinder/wiser than most psychiatrists I've spoken to. Maybe even all.
