With a PhD in Pastoral Psychotherapy, a PsyD in Counseling Psychology, a MDiv in divinity studies, I bring to bear on my work an integrative approach to therapy and Life Coaching. I work with couples, individuals, and families. I specialized in marriage and family issues, midlife transitions, and individual ego supportive and insight oriented psychotherapy. I have a burning interest in the intersection of depression and domestic violence, especially because I work with both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. I have personal and professional expertise to work with persons who have issues around immigration (including uprootedness/disconnect, separation from home country, & family). I run therapy groups exploring a variety of issues and problems. I lead Retreats, Seminars, and Workshops challenging persons to deeper psycho-spiritual experiences. I hold certifications in Pastoral Psychotherapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Spiritual Formation & Direction, Family Mediation, and Life Coaching. I developed a process method for personal and group engagement called Re-Membering (applying depth psychological concepts to religious and social experience). For over 24 years I have successfully helped people from diverse cultural, economic, religious backgrounds. I have effectively worked to save marriages on the brink of divorce. I have coached numerous persons from a place of stuckness to one of meaningful living where they are able to maximize their God- given human potentials. I teach in Seminaries, Universities and Graduate Programs in Psychotherapy. I am certified as a Life Coach and Mediator. I am a Member of the American Academy of Experts in Trauma Stress (AAETS); member with psychoanalyst designation with the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis (NAAP; Clinical member of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT); Disaster Chaplain with NY Chaplaincy Services; Psychological Consultant with the NY Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
