I can comment at a very superficial level on the operation of Oracle7.3 relational database management server.
I am not a DBA, I just run the Oracle server for my department, when it needs attention.
I have installed Oracle 7 and 8 a few times, but not frequently enough to qualify as a proper DBA, so I can answer questions about my experience doing this, and such.
I can tell you stories, I can interpret the manual some, I have some knowledge of how the thing works, but I can not help you with Best Practices, I can not fix your database, I can not tell you how to make it faster.

Experience & Qualifications

- Have installed it several times on SCO Unix and Solaris, possibly even a Windows NT box if I remember correctly.
I run the server for our department, and assist the users in their usage when DBA privileges are required.
