* Ultrasonic in-room patient monitor -- Involved circuit design (modulator, demodulator, amplifier, power optimisation), software design (on PC, used Matlab and C++), web design/interface (PC, via self-written DLL (written in C++), talked to website that archived transmitted packets in a MySQL database for post-analysis), wireless communication protocol design (packet formatting and with single error correction double error detection facilities built in), microprocessor programming (PIC and MSP430 done in C), serial port communication (implemented on uP and PC).
* Viterbi encoding implementation -- extremely efficient implementation of hardware Viterbi encoder (encoding done with VHDL on Spartan 3 Xilinx FPGA), viterbi decoding and error correction done on software (via C program)
* SMS messenger -- C++ program written as a generic user-friendly interface to an SMS messaging website in Ireland. Written in C++ and utilising the Win32 API, boost and libcurl libraries.
* Hardware programming -- Have programmed microprocessors (PICs, MSP430), FPGAs (Spartan3, Virtex4), and a lot of software for various projects during the years.
