I am a computer science specialist with a particle physics background (MSc in nuclear physics). I have both strong
academic computer science experience and an industry real life experience, including: programming languages design, compilers and interpreters implementation, computational and symolic mathematics problems, complex databases and user interfaces, Unix systems administration (all levels of complexity).
As a metaprogramming fan I used C++ a lot, mostly playing with its template features. I do not like this language, but I understand well that it is widely accepted in the industry, so this skill is still important.
But the most interesting thing that could be done with C++ - is turning it into the language with an alternative programming model.
