Michael Wood, 32, started his music career as a guitarist for the major label band "Circuit" back in 1996. Since being discovered by legendary radio DJ Casey Kasem in the United States Michael has gone on to being signed to Top Sail Productions/Warner in the US and releasing "Eau De Humanity" a collection of work that was produced by platinum, Juno Award
winner, Dale Penner (also produced Nickelback, Holly McNarland, Matthew Good).
Presently, Michael is the President of City Lights Entertainment, a college professor teaching the business of music and is a voting member of the recording academy for the Grammy Awards for which he filed reports last year for CBC radio. Michael has been the "American Idol Insider" for various Fox affiliates in the US including Chicago, Milwaukee, Memphis, Columbus Ohio among many others including Canada AM where he has called upon as a "Music
Industry Analyst". Michael's music has also been placed in numerous show produced by MTV USA (broadcast worldwide) including Real World, Road Rules, The Gauntlet 3, Engaged and Underage plus many more.
City Lights Entertainment is a management company that nurtures the career of select artists, manages producer careers, operates a booking agency, offers digital distribution through iTunes, artist consulting, live show production and much more. City Lights Entertainment is currently
distributing new material from Academy Award/Grammy Award winner Irene Cara.
Michael is constant demand as a speaker on the subject of breaking into the music industry, most recently being a panelist at the critically acclaimed Dewey Beach Music Conference in the United States. He has spoken at other
educational facilities all across the North America as well. He also has launched a brand new educational program to help draw teens into their local libraries by offering real time "webinars" where teens and their parents can interact through audio and video with Michael and ask the questions they want answered. Markets that have booked this program include New York City, Toronto, Calgary and many more.
Michael is also an award-winning author for his book "You've Got A Friend In The 'Biz". Recently he took home top honours in the USA National Best Book Awards under the "Best Music Book" and "Best PR Campaign" categories. On top of sharing his experiences and ideas, he has called upon some of his "friends in the 'biz" to share their stories and help point you in the right direction. People
such as Casey Kasem, Ruth McCartney (Paul McCartney's sister), JT The Brick (Fox Sports Radio), Don Kronberg (worked with Jerry Seinfeld, Martina McBride), Dale Penner (Producer, Nickelback),Shawn Mullins (Grammy Award winning songwriter) and many more have all participated to make this book a

Michael is a great person to talk to about any question in the industry, and he is very professional. He basically knows his stuff and can explain it well. He is really very good at what he does, a true expert in his field, and he is very generous. All in all, I wish I spoke to him a long long long time ago. Highly reccomended!
