My Expert Service

I have studied, taught college, and written and edited academic textbook supplements for publishers. To students: You must give me something to work with, no matter how rough. It does not even have to be complete sentences or paragraphs. It can be just notes. I can fix it! I will not do your research for you (you are supposedly taking the course and I am not, so expecting me to do research for a class I don't attend is like asking me to reinvent the wheel). I will not give you my original ideas for you to take the credit. I will take any thoughts you can come up with and write down, no matter how poorly, and fix them. You will get a well organized piece with appropriate paragraphs and full grammatical sentences which connect the ideas in a logical order so that they flow and are easy to read and understand, and there will be no mechanical errors. I guarantee that even your lamest attempts to do some research and write some ideas down in whatever form you can manage will result in your learning 100% more than if you simply cheat. Not only is cheating wrong, but in the long run it will do you much more harm than good. It will not only leave you ignorant; moreover, it will greatly hinder your chances at jobs or a career! It's not just knowing information; it's learning how to think critically. By cheating you simply won't be equipped to deal with life very effectively. The following excerpt is from Stephen Covey's book Seven Habits of Highly Effective People: "...It simply makes no difference how good the rhetoric is or even how good the intentions are; if there is little or no trust, there is no foundation for permanent success. Only basic goodness gives life to technique. To focus on technique is like cramming your way through school. You sometimes get by, perhaps even get good grades, but if you don't pay the price day in and day out, you never achieve true mastery of the subjects you study or develop an educated mind. Did you ever consider how ridiculous it would be to try to cram on a farm -- to forget to plant in the spring, play all summer and then cram in the fall to bring in the harvest? The farm is a natural system. The price must be paid and the process followed. You always reap what you sow; there is no shortcut." (--Stephen Covey, "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People")
