I believe academic rigor can be obtained in non-traditional ways, but am not opposed to using what ever works. Familiar with Holt, Mason, Bauer, Beechick, Gatto, Steiner, Sonlight, Ambleside, Thomas Jefferson Education, and others, including Gifted, free online resources, other subject-specific curricula and non-curriculum resources. I'll work with your desires, help you clarify your goals, and set up realistic and attainable steps to achieve them for you and your family. I encourage living books, live resources and mentors, co-ops, hands-on learning, and little or no "make work" or busy work. I also like to make sure the parent is nurtured and fulfilled in homeschooling. Happy to act as a mentor to older students.

Partly homeschooled due to modeling/acting career as child. Bored of accelerated program in High School, switched to alternative school with college classes and apprenticeships at 16. Homeschooling/Unschooling (13 years) mother of three, active in state and local organizations, extensive research and home library, compassionate and understanding. Originally from NYC, now in FL.
