Mr. Leon has more than 30 years experience in mechanical systems design from development to commercialization and field support in both commercial and governmental sectors (NASA and US Military). He has worked domestically and internationally with vendors and customers in all areas of mechanical product design, development and implementation, from initial concept to full-scale production, as well as commercial equipment field support. Mr. Leon has exceptionally strong, "hands-on" skills in machine and mechanism design, tool design, plastic molding, composites, fabrication practices and procedures, design for assembly, kinematics, and dynamic analysis/modeling. Additional skills include the efficient use of CAD, system development and analysis, project management, and TQM.

Experience & Qualifications

Unicorn Technical Services a continuation of an original company (Creative Design Services) placed in hiatus for approximately 3 years (2001-2004) while Mr. Leon served as the Chief Engineer of Felton International. UTS and CDS were established to provide concurrent engineering and manufacturing engineering services to industry in a timely cost-effective manner by applying advanced mechanical /manufacturing engineering and project management techniques. Projects undertaken include medical, aerospace (NASA), industrial, governmental (DOD and DOE) and consumer products.
Products developed run the gamut from a large scale assembly line for turbine controllers, to manned space hardware, to medical devices (FDA Class I and II, and veterinary) and toys. The components designed have ranged in size from thousands of pounds down to milligrams.
Major projects
• Designed and installed 50,000 square feet manufacturing line in Monterrey Mexico
• Designed and developed Running Man incursion simulator to train security personnel at nuclear power plants
• Designed and implemented a number of structures and systems including a Satellite Antenna enclosure system, which incorporated a three axis satellite tracker
• On-going projects to design board games and card game packaging and components
• Designed a storage bag and other special components for audiovisual equipment to be used by science teachers
• Designed cabinet furniture for a large producer of kitchen cabinets and office furniture
