Master degree in mathematics from the University of Genova, Italy. Ph.d. in computational mathematics from George Mason University, Fairfax VA (USA). Ok that was my official qualification. It doesn't say much I guess. I have a passion for learning languages. I have taught Italian to American and Czech students (both in the US and in Prague, CZ) and I also have experience teaching English as a second language.

I am a native Italian young researcher (mathematics and computer science, see my other profiles). I lived in the USA for 4 years where I got my Ph.D. in Mathematics so I am fluent in English. I can translate TO Italian FROM the following languages:
*English (very good knowledge)
*French (good knowledge)
*Spanish (good knowledge)
*Czech (my partner is a native Czech speaker)

Experience & Qualifications

I started tutoring grade school kids during my last two years of high school. I am used to work with people of any age, as I am adaptive, patient and very much people-oriented in spite of my degrees in pure math. You know those scary looking mathematicians who populate math departments right? Old-fashioned glasses, grey clothes, cold personality... I am definitely not one of them. I actually enjoy teaching very much. In college I had a large experience in teaching freshmens in classes and individually. I have been a TA at George Mason University for two years and I loved it. I had very high ratings as a math teacher. My language students tell me that I know how to make things easy. I translate to Italian so that the script still says the same things and is as close as possible to the original. I am aware of many everyday and idiomatic expressions because I like to talk to people.
