As a former undergraduate Psychology major (now graduated with a Bachelor of The Arts (B.A.) degree), I spent four years attending lectures, reading academic journals and textbooks, submitting papers, as well as presenting on a variety of Psychological topics. Please note that I am *not* a Mental Health Professional such as a Psychotherapist, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist. However, my experience and education working under the direction of a very talented group of Psychologists has provided me with an above-average understanding of human nature.
Additionally, I have received professional training in providing crisis support to victims of sexual assault. I also have 3 years experience as a paraprofessional first-responder to young adults in crisis. Responsibilities included basic counseling, active listening, recognizing suicidal behaviors and thought-patterns, and knowing when professional support is needed.
I can answer any questions you may have about my experience. We can talk about any issue you like. Some topics include Social Sciences (Academic-related), Relationships, Mental Illness, Therapies, Symptoms, etc. I will maintain an unbiased and nonjudgmental position as active listener and/or provide advice as requested.
