First of all I am not a doctor, nurse, or any kind of medical professional. I am just a mom who has a daughter who has recovered from a devastating disease called Severe Chronic Neutropenia. When my daughter was diagnosed with this disease she was 5 years old and it lasted 5 years. When our children get sick, possibly fatally sick friends and family have a tendency to pull away. I don't think it isn't because they are not caring I think it is because they are scared. It's hard to find friendship and a hug, or even compassion sometimes. Another thing that doesn't help is when we are with friends and family all we do is talk about the "disease" and our life and people do get tired of it believe me. I can help you learn to put some kind of normalcy in your routine because it's important to be a part of the human race if only for a minute.

At the time there was no real place to get answers, no local support groups, no one to understand and in fact the doctors had a hard time finding me answers. I have spent more time in those years on the inside of so many hopsitals, talked to so many doctors, dealt with the insurance companies and I can help you get your life back in order. I can teach you to become your child's BEST and FIRST advocate. Learn how to ask the right people the right questions and stop getting the run around!!
