My expertise is based on my eduation and working experience providing psychosocial evaluations on hundreds of people with Developmental Disabilities. I have found that one of the biggest challenges that Parents and caregivers face can be from lask of education on what is available to them for supports. Navigating the systems which have been put in place to help support people with Developmental Disabilities can be confusing and frustrating and they vary from State to State. I can help educate others about what they need to do make sure they are recieving services that they are eligible for. This includes but is not limited to; Positive Behavior Support Plans with ongoing support, State and Federal programs, Support Groups and Legal and Advocacy organizations. I keep a data base for each area and if I don't have your information immediately, I can find it for you in a reasonable time.

Experience & Qualifications

|
Worked as a Behavior Specialist for the State of Georgia; Experienced as a professional Psychometrist. Performed hundreds of Psychological Tests, scored and interpreted results under licensed supervision. Provided referral and sourcing information to hundreds of families and caregivers. Provided training sessions for educators and parents for Positive Behavior Support in the schools and at home. In my free time, I have provided Consulting and Advocacy for families without the financial or educational means to help themselves without assistance, free of charge. I especially enjoy helping grandparents who are raising grandchildren and adoptive/foster parents. Medicaid experience, including eligibility screenings for State and Federal programs. I have also Consulted and Advocated for families who need help with legal and civil rights issues from past and present situations with their Mentally Retarded family members.
