Diabetes Education - one to one - lifestyle changes - personal motivation - individual counseling - family counseling - individual dose adjustment of insulin or insulin analog (in conjunction with physician) according to shift work or lifestyle changes) Mood disorder - individual counseling - concentration on reality therapy (William Glaser based theory) - empathy for the past but concentration on the future. Focus patient not on using one medium but on 'stacking' the deck in his/her favour. Adding as many quivers as they can to their arsenal. Involving the loved ones in the healing process. Cardiac Care - prevention above all. - but then post cardiac depression. What to do then? Both family and patient are in a struggle. Intervention is needed at both levels. Paliative care. - Patient advocacy - being the voice of reason for the patient and his/her family. treating pain as a disease, not simply a problem to contend with. DEATH WITH DIGNITY, ABOVE ALL.
