I have been a NICU (neonatal intensive care nurse) for 12 years now and can answer your questions regarding newborns, whether they are term or premature. I am also a parent of a preemie so I can empathize and give advice from that perspectice as well.

Experience & Qualifications

I had a premature (33 weeks) baby at age 17 and after the experience in the NICU chose to begin nursing school and to specialize in that area. After school (and having 3 babies!) I went directly into newborn nursing doing both newborn nursery and NICU. I love them both and have never wanted to do anything else. I currently work in a level 3 NICU and have taken care of almost every kind of patient to the youngest age of 23 weeks premature. Whether you need advice from me as a parent of a NICU patient, or advice/info from me as a Nursing Professional working in the area, please don't hesitate to contact me.
