My specialty is occupational therapy and early intervention for families and people in transition. I also specialize in child development. I am experienced in helping people deal with grief, self-esteem issues, new parenting, child development and disabilities. I place a strong emphasis on a holistic approach, utilizing spiritual systems as appropriate to each individual and alternative methods, along with mainstream approaches. I have a multi-faceted background which makes my experience broad and has increased my capacity to relate to most situations in life. I am an educator and occupational therapy practitioner helping families and people reach their highest potential and quality of life. My goal is to help facilitate people's skills of daily living and best quality of life. In doing so, I assist people to identify where they are now and what they want to achieve; as well as how to do it.
I have worked in the educational field, intervention, occupational therapy and as a consultant for over 20 years. I teach classes and run a support group to help people reach their potential. I can help you overcome what is keeping you from reaching your fullest potential. Many of us have an unconscious "handicap" that holds us back and sabatoges us from succeeding. I will build your self-esteem and be here for you to support and give you guidance. Most of all, my goal is to empower you to become all that you were meant to be in your fullest potential. Realize and actualize your fullest capacity to live a higher quality of life that you deserve now.
I am also an artist and a published writer. I have written articles on human development, occupational therapy and illnesses such as fibromyalgia and anxiety. I believe in applying the arts as a therapeutic approach. Part of my method of facilitation of identifying your goals and reaching them, is to ask you to keep a journal. I will develope a specific program for you and give you assignments. We will identify where you are now, find a center and then define what your short term and long term goals are. You will see measurable success. I utilize gentle guidance and accountability. Do not be intimidated by this, because I am practiced at identifying when you need nurturing and gentle therapy/guidance. You will move at a pace that is comfortable for you. Whether you are a parent who wants to develope your parenting skills and/or understand your child's development or are concerned about a disbility or other problem that is keeping you or your child from reaching a fuller potential, I am here to assist you.
I can also help you to identify if you need other assistance and assist you in finding that. Together we will develope a plan and fulfill it - to define your goals and reach your optimum potential.
